Cup of Joey: Natural Bensa, Darabiel & goodbye Kenya

Cup of Joey: Natural Bensa, Darabiel & goodbye Kenya

Natural Bensa, Darabiel & goodbye Kenya

Last time you heard from me, I told you all about our new Washed Ethiopia Damo Shanta Golba. (How have you been liking this one??)  It is with great pleasure that today I introduce you to the Ethiopia Natural Bensa Screen 13!

Beginning Feb 1, this coffee will be filling the shoes of the Ethiopia Natural Negusse Nare. This Bensa comes in hot with loud pomegranate juiciness, balanced out nicely with hints of cocoa nibs and a touch of orange like acidity.

Now, if you have been enjoying our Mexico Santa Maria Yucuhiti, I have some sad news for you. We are all set to run out of this beautiful coffee soon, and beginning January 25, we will be bringing in the Colombia Darabiel Osorio! Reminiscent of fudge, peanut brittle and a little bit of pear-like sweetness, this coffee is pure comfort in a cup.

Last up we must say our goodbyes to our Kenya Mukarimu AB. Whenever we run out of a particular coffee, we typically aim to have a similar-ish and delicious replacement coffee ready to go. However, in this case, we will not be offering a Kenyan coffee for a few months. We love working with Jamii Coffee, our Kenyan coffee importer, and instead of shopping around looking for another Kenyan coffee, we decided to wait until their next shipment of fresh crop Kenyan deliciousness arrives. We were lucky enough to have a lil taste of what’s on the way, and we cannot wait to share it with you!

Until next time,

-Joey Dolin, Roastery Manager
